A major refurbishment to Manchester’s Arndale Centre, the largest in the chain of the Arndale’s and boasting a portfolio of 210 stores.

Built initially in the early 1970’s at a cost of around 100 million, 80 retailers such as Selfridges and Marks & Spencer continue to occupy the Centre today, which see’s in excess of 25 million visitors on average each year. On completion, the project now provides around 25,000 sq. ft of food and beverage space.

The scheme was to convert shops into restaurants and bars with existing retail units being remodeled, revitalized and refurbished. In addition, feature ceilings and escalators were installed. The owners announced that the first three brands to take on new space at the development would be Tapas Revolution (which will make its Manchester debut, signing for a 15-year lease on 2,800 sq. ft), Mexican food chain Barburrito (a 15-year lease on 2,100 sq. ft), and Fizz! Bar which will open a 1,500 sq. ft prosecco bar on a 10-year lease. In total, 10 new restaurants, bars and cafes will be created as part of the project.

As part of the retail modernisation process, we have worked as part of the team that will keep the Arndale Centre firmly in the spotlight as one of Manchester and the UK’s major retail flagship destinations.

The Talbot Gateway project in Blackpool has seen the demolition of an existing retail store, as well as the completion of a new tramway interchange at Blackpool North Station, a new underpass, the creation of a Holiday Inn hotel and restaurant and new retail outlets.

This phase of regeneration of Blackpool’s town centre, including a new four-star hotel offering 144 bedrooms complete with a Marco Pierre White restaurant, is part of Blackpool Council’s wider £1 billion regeneration of the town.

This also includes the Houndshill extension, Blackpool Central, the Winter Gardens conference centre and the Airport Enterprise Zone.

Four New Bailey is a 175,000 sq ft office building located at the iconic English Cities Fund’s Salford scheme.

Designed by Make Architects, Four New Bailey is the fourth office to come forward at the consortium’s New Bailey scheme, part of the wider £1bn Salford Central masterplan.

English Cities Fund has already delivered One, Two and Three New Bailey, with plans for a fifth new-build office development already approved by Salford City Council. 

The building’s striking design is unlike any other in the city, adding to New Bailey’s eclectic mix of unique and exciting commercial developments.

The NHS Wesham Clinic is a new community-facing mental health rehabilitation centre based at the former Wesham Hospital Rehabilitation site on Mowbreck Lane, which provides a bridge between acute care and community living.

The project, managed between LSCft, Healthcare Support and Infrastructure Services (HSIS), Frank Whittle and contractors Eric Wright Construction, is an integral part of the Trust’s mental health rehab and recovery transformation work.

Prior to the opening, the NHS ran its mental health rehabilitation service through its Skylark Centre at Royal Preston Hospital, which was purpose built as an interim rehabilitation offering while Wesham was under development.
