The scheme is the first of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust’s long-term £200m investment programme over the next decade. It has been designed to deliver clinical excellence while fostering a welcoming environment that prioritises safety, dignity and wellbeing for patients, carers and visitors.
Sustainability is a key driver, which aligns with BREEAM excellence and Net Zero Carbon standards. The development incorporates a range of sustainable technologies, including solar panels, low-temperature air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and ground-coupled heat exchangers.

Inscape was appointed by Integrated Health Projects (IHP), continuing a strong working relationship built on a proven track record of successfully delivering specialist healthcare interiors across multiple projects.
Given the nature of the facility, patient safety was paramount. The specification demanded robust, anti-ligature solutions without compromising on aesthetics or longevity.
We delivered our Gieni-Clad IPS Duct Panelling System, manufactured entirely from water-resistant Solid Grade Laminate, finished with an over-layer of High-Pressure Laminate to provide a seamless, durable and hygienic surface. Integrated anti-ligature inset panels were incorporated throughout, ensuring the highest levels of safety.
To complement the IPS systems, we designed and manufactured bespoke vanity units for the bathrooms. These were produced from water-resistant Solid Grade Laminate and finished with curved, anti-ligature solid surface composite vanity tops, complete with seamlessly integrated wash basins.
The result is a cohesive, high-quality solution that balances resilience, safety and visual appeal, built to perform for decades.
