We recently installed a new 15 metre through-feed CNC nesting cell and edge bander with a panel return system, as well as undertaking a complete reconfiguration of the factory layout.
The investment, worth £350,000 has given us the potential to double turnover as our order book continues to grow.
Gary Wynne, our managing director of Inscape, comments: “This latest investment will help us achieve greater automation and is part of our strategy to make us ready for Industry 4.0, the so-called fourth industrial revolution.
“This is not just about machinery though, it’s also about upskilling our workforce. We’re a people business first and foremost and we’re investing significantly in our training, especially skills in automation software, and looking to strengthen our apprenticeship scheme.”
As well as washroom and changing environments, Inscape also manufactures specialist wall panels and furniture products.
We have recently undertaken projects for contractors including Laing O’Rourke, Wates Construction and Bowmer & Kirkland. Projects include the New Bailey development in Manchester city centre, the Sands Centre in Carlisle, and the prestigious new Christie Cancer Care centre in Macclesfield.
Gary adds: “We’re really optimistic about the future. 2021 has been a fight back year for us following the ground we all lost in 2020 because of the pandemic. The construction industry is now recovering from those shocks and our order book is possibly the strongest it’s ever been.”
We secured grant funding from Made Smarter to support our investment plans and have also worked closely with the innovation teams at UCLan and Edge Hill University to help bring our plans to fruition.
