Fred Longworth High School is the first of two high schools being advanced by BAM Construction under the Department for Education’s high value framework.
The scheme consists of a new three-storey teaching block and removal of the existing school to create new sports pitches.
The challenge on site was to create a new overlay on the current campus while the school continued to operate, this involved retaining three existing buildings and making use of intelligence sequencing.
Upon completion, it has increased the school’s capacity from 1,275 to 1,350 pupils and has a net zero carbon in operation.
Our Extremus Department for Education products were approved following successful installations on previous frameworks for BAM.
