Located in the West Midlands, the new Marie Curie Cancer Care Unit is a larger, purpose-built facility to help the Marie Curie organisation provide its services throughout the Birmingham and Warwickshire area.
The new £20 million hospice has 24 en-suite bedrooms, superb out-patients facilities and a cafe overlooking its landscaped gardens. A fantastic environment for patients and staff alike.
In order to eliminate the need for on-site disruption or delay, Inscape’s modular Giene-Duct CPS system was manufactured and assembled at their own dedicated factory, separate to the Marie Curie construction site. As Giene-Clad CPS is a pre-framed duct panel system it is easy to install any required sanitaryware and brassware, resulting in significant efficiency and cost saving benefits for the project.
Additionally, Inscape also provided Altro Whiterock Chameleon hygienic wall cladding in a range of high gloss decors to brighten the en-suite shower areas as well as Altro Whiterock Digiclad in the kitchen area to provide a unique feature wall and to help enhance the environment for kitchen staff.
Inscape’s Gareth Bennett highlighted another reason for the selection of Giene-Clad CPS and Altro Whiterock wall cladding:
There are few more demanding environments, in terms of hygiene, than a busy healthcare facility. As well as being very fast and efficient to install, Inscape’s Giene-Clad CPS boxes and hygienic wall cladding also has to provide a seamless hygienic surface to combat modern infection control issues. Giene-Clad CPS and Altro Whiterock hygienic wall cladding both tick these boxes
