The flagship facility is being built using a £20m grant from the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growth Deal and extends the University of Sheffield AMRC’s footprint across the north.
This cutting edge research centre, which combines modern office workspace with a flexible high-tech workshop facility and an atrium which will form the social hub, will play a key role in driving recovery, growth, productivity and innovation, supporting Lancashire firms to compete nationally and internationally.
Since we were already working with the Advanced Manufacturing and Research Centre (AMRC) to help to commercialise innovative new products whilst also taking part in the Made Smarter Leadership programme to help to further develop innovative thinking within the organization, meant AMRC North West was a very fitting project for us to work on. We are proud to be associated with AMRC and this project and provide our Industria Plus IPS Panelling Systems.
Luke Hall, Minister of State for Regional Growth and Local Government, made the comments to mark the first steps in building the 4,500m2 applied research centre at the heart of the Samlesbury Aerospace Enterprise Zone in Preston, Lancashire.
“We are delighted to be backing the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) North West with a £20 million Local Growth Fund investment,” said MP Luke Hall.
