The transformative First Light Project will unlock the potential of Jodrell Bank’s unique and inspiring history. creating a new must-see national heritage destination and offering spectacular new visitor facilities for audiences, school children and communities alike. The centre piece of the project will be the First Light Pavilion, a stunning new building constructed in the gardens of Jodrell Bank. Designed by the internationally acclaimed architects HASSELL Studio, The Pavillion will include a new gallery dedicated to telling the story of Jodrell Bank, an immersive projection space and auditorium, and a new education hub and cafe. Inside the First Light Pavilion will be a spectacular exhibition, in which visitors can engage with the stories of the amazing scientists and engineers who have worked at Jodrell Bank over the years, and whose stories continue today.
Kier appointed Inscape Interiors to manufacture, supply and install a high class 44mm thick, high pressure laminated, rebated flush cubicle system with pre-lipped hardwood edgings combining durability and style. Due to the nature of the project and high-traffic public use, a hardwearing yet stylish system was the remit, and what better colours to finish it in than black and silver to compliment gazing at the night skies with the shinning stars.
