The Point is Lancashire County Cricket Club’s stunning new £12M conference and events centre at Old Trafford. Purpose-built to an extremely high specification and incorporating a range of environmental innovations, The Point is a truly state-of-the-art venue.Designed by BDP and built by Morgan Ashhurst, The Point is designed for a sit down dinner capacity of around 1,000 guests with a conference capacity of a further 1,000 people.
Inscapes challenge was to provide venue facilities that matched both the splendour of the venue whilst standing up to the rigours of up to 2,000 people enjoying their occasion.
Rising to the challenge, Inscape provided WC cubicles and duct panels from its Zenith range. Standing tall and imposing in dark graphite, Zenith WC cubicles feature floor to ceiling doors and pilasters which, in combination with the duct panels, provided a stark contrast with the brightness of the stainless steel fittings and white sanitaryware.
The vanity units comprised of bespoke Corian troughs that were manufactured on site and featured integral upstands, complete with stainless steel infra-red taps, and built-in vanity shelves to the rear.
The use of Corian in trough format meant that Inscape could provide vanity units that maintained the dramatic angular and seamless design aesthetics of the project whilst avoiding the usage limitations, and ensuing queues of waiting people, that individual basins would have created in a facility of this size and nature.
