The dementia friendly facility includes a fitness suite, swimming pools, sports hall, tennis courts, 3G pitch, GP surgeries, library, cafe and health & wellbeing facilities including a spa. The old leisure centre was part of the community for 40 years but with the area expanding at a rapid pace, together with a growing elderly population and with over ten thousand new residents in the area, the new Neighbourhood Hub was desperately needed. Operators LiveWire were given the task of providing the people of Warrington with this new hub to provide services which the whole community would benefit from.
Inscape’s Extremus WC cubicles and Hydr8 Lockers & Changing Cubicles are manufactured from Solid Grade Laminate with Satin Anodised Aluminium Fittings. They were chosen by the architect and the client as a robust, cost effective, user friendly and long-lasting solution. Combining water, chemical and vandal resistance, these are materials that really stand up to the test of time. Inscape’s Extremus and Hydr8 furniture is low maintenance and ideal for highly populated public areas with long opening hours.
The colour scheme choice was also a critical factor. Designing the Hub to look modern, vibrant, bright, clean and welcoming to all whilst meeting the challenge of delivering the correct light reflectance values between the colour scheme and fittings was critical to ensure that it was user friendly for visually impaired users. Additional care was also taken with the design of every area to ensure that the rooms and furniture did not limit access to anyone so they could be used comfortably by all.
