Constructed around the 1850’s lifting tower, a Grade 2 listed building, which remains the focal point of one the largest communal spaces in Leeds.
As is the case in many of our UK cities, Leeds has a shortage of Grade A office space and Wates Construction Limited have really delivered with this project supported by their sub-contractors. We are proud to be a part of this supply chain.
The design brief was clear- a modern, high class environment with robust properties that could stand the test of time in a high use environment. Our solution used Abet Laminati compact grade laminate and Quartz stone to create a washroom that is perfect for today’s professionals working in this type of office space.
Wates Construction made a pragmatic decision to keep the number of sub-contractors on site to a minimum, which gave Inscape the opportunity to really show off our skills when we took on the lift lobby panelling package. We managed to take the architects vision and bring it to life with stunning fire rated materials externally trimmed in top-grade stainless-steel trims.
We handed over this challenging project on time and snag free to a delighted main contractor and end user.

Having led on the construction for a number of sites in Leeds, Wates has played an important role in supporting the local community since the works started by launching a pilot employment scheme providing a much-needed boost for some of the areas at risk individuals. The site team where possible, undertook a range of activities to tackle homelessness, including volunteering at St. Georges Crypt and implementing a ‘pay it forward’ programme, where money donated was used to buy food vouchers, which were then distributed to homeless people across Leeds.
We are proud to be a part of this success, not only as a construction building, but for the environmental and social awareness it has created.
We are looking forward to working with Wates on their next project.
