A Church of England voluntary controlled 11 18 High School founded in 1566 by the Bishop of Durham, the school continues to play a key role in local, national and international communities. As a Technology College with exceptional ICT facilities and state of the art technology equipment, Rivington & Blackrod continues to push the boundaries further and raise aspiration levels higher.
Having worked with inscape previously on the numerous washroom facilities within the school, Rivington & Blackrod School asked Inscape to provide science laboratory and domestic science cupboard units, laboratory worktops and perimeter benching to the same exacting standards.

On this phase the two distinct areas required two distinct solutions. The five laboratory areas needed bespoke, angled island workbenches manufactured from Trespa solid laminate, whilst the two domestic science areas were all about working space and usability and utilised perimeter work benches around the circumference of the rooms, supported on metal cantilever brackets.
In both areas bespoke MF MDF cabinets provided under-bench storage. With performance criteria requiring that the work surfaces should be resistant to chemicals and easy to clean and/or disinfect, Trespa solid laminate was the ideal product for the job.
The quality and design of the Inscape products in these two areas complemented the robust durability of the Extremus cubicles and Extremus duct panels supplied in previous phases allowing inscape to fully understand the needs of the school and to provide appropriate solutions for each of the differing school environments, from washrooms to laboratories, to classrooms.
